Jac Summer Hat for Adult

As always, I crochet tightly so you may need to adjust your hook size to get the same result.


It may seem weird to post a summer hat in the winter but I felt the need to share and this is what I came up with :o)


Sinfonia Sportsweight 100% MERCERIZED cotton 100g/3.52oz/218yds


Color Burdeos (translates to maroon but looks RED to me)


I use the K hook


Stitches used:
Double Crochet
Slip Stitch
V-stitches

      *Beg V-st:ch 4,dc

      *V-st:dc,ch 1,dc

Clusters

      *Beg Cluster:ch 2,(YO, insert hook in st,YO,pull through st,YO,pull through 2 loops on 
        hook)twice,YO,pull through all 3 loops on hook.

      *Cluster:(YO,insert hook in st,YO,pull through st,YO,pull through 2 loops on hook)3 times,YO,pull 
         through all 4 loops on hook.

Start with the magic ring.
Rnd 1:Ch 2, 15 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of beginning dc
Rnd 2:Ch 2, dc in same st, *dc in nt st, 2dc in nt st*, join with sl to ch2
Rnd 3:Ch 2, dc in same st, *dc in nt 2 st, 2dc in nt st* , join...
Rnd 4:Ch 2, dc in same st, *dc in nt 3 st, 2dc in nt st*, join...
Rnd 5:Ch 2, dc in same st, *dc in nt 4 st, 2dc in nt st*, join...
Rnd 6:ch 2,  dc in same st, *dc in nt 5 st, 2dc in nt st*, join...
Rnd 7-12:Ch 2,dc in each st around.Join....
Rnd 13:Beg V-st in same st as joining,sk next st,(V-st in next st,sk next st)aroundJoin with sl st to 3rd ch of Beg V-st
Rnd 14:Sl st in next V-st,Beg Cluster in same sp,ch 1,(Cluster in next V-st,ch 1)around.Join to top of Beg Cluster.
Rnd 15:Sl st in next ch-1 sp,Beg V-st in same sp.V-st in each ch-1 sp around.Join.
Rnd 16-18:Rep Rnds 14, 15, 14
Rnd 19:Ch 1,sc in same st as joinng and in each st around.Join. Fasten off,weave in ends.

H hook
with MC leaving long tail for sewing start with magic ring.
Rnd1: ch1, sc in ring, *ch3, sc in ring* 4 times, ch3, sl st to 1st sc.
Rnd2 (forms petal): *sc, ch1, 3dc, ch1, sc* in EACH ch3sp, sl to 1st sc, fasten off.
rnd3:with CC push 1 petal forward to work behind, put hook through ch3sp & out of foundation ring & draw up loop, ch1, sc in same sp, *ch4, sc in next ch3sp* 4 times, ch4, sl st to 1st sc (forms 5 loops)
Rnd4 (forms double layer petals): *sc, hdc, dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, sc* in each loop, sl st to 1st sc, fasten off
